Introduction

This is the module activity on Progressivism where we will explore the debate over the large child audiences attending silent movies in the early 20th century.

The instructions for your assignment may be found in the Debate section.

In the early 20th century, the Movies developed into affordable entertainment for the masses, which led many middle-class reformers to write and study this new commercial amusement. A sample of those writings is in the Library. This body of literature spawned and facilitated the Debate. All 3 sections are available at the top of each page within the site.

Have fun at the movies!
