Initiatives in Educational Transformation (IET) seeks to transform our society one teacher, classroom, and school at a time. Founded in 1992 at George Mason University (Virginia, USA), IET was created to provide a rare opportunity for public school teachers to engage with what it means to be an effective learner and teacher. Since then, and in the best tradition of collaboration and activism,1,500 teachers have engaged in a thought-filled exploration of what it means to teach and learn, and equally important, how to create conditions to ensure it happens.
We welcome you into our community, and invite you – teachers, university faculty, anyone who cares about education – to join in our effort to find empowering solutions for educating our youth for full participation in an ever-changing world.
