Craig, Tim, and Michael D. Shear. "Allen Quip Provokes Outrage, Apology." The
Washington Post. 15 Aug. 06. 27 Feb. 2008
This article is used to illustrate the internet's ability to spread information, and therefore feelings very quickly, and this in turn has political ramifications
Dierker, Robert. "Obama Image". Orignal Artwork by Student
Gore, Al. (2007) The Assault On Reason. The Penguin Press; NY.
This is a very interesting book by a former vice president/politician/activist that talks extensively about the internet’s effect on society. This book is a credible source that has a lot of material that deals with the topic of information distribution and the resulting effects on society. My paper is actually organized around a quote from this book.
Gross, Grant. "Obama Campaign Relies on Tech Tools." PC World 17 Feb. 2008.
This article is from a magazine called PC World, which prints stories dealing with computers and technology in general. The article I selected from it describes Sen. Barack Obama’s success in using the internet as a powerful tool for organizing and empowering volunteers.
Obama, Barack H. "Technology and Innovation for a New Generation." Barack Obama.
10 Feb. 2008
Information found on this website is included to provide an example of how a candidate who has embraced the power of the internet effectively during a campaign intends on using the internet once elected. This is a credible source, seeing as how it is published on Barack Obama’s official website.
Mosk, Matthew A. "The Trial: a Daily Diary of Campaign 2008."http://blog.washingtonpost.com/. 7 Feb. 2008. 14 Feb. 2008
I got this article off of The Washington Post’s on-line, so I assume it is credible. There are a number of articles that point out Obama’s fund-raising superiority that I could have chosen from, but this one pays a little bit more attention to the fact that the internet is heavily responsible for this dominance.
Stirland, Sarah. "Wired Blog Network." Election 2008. 30 Sept. 2007. 29 Feb. 2008
The quote I used from this article simply points out the importance that fund-raising has in the political world. I wanted to use a quote from an on-line blog network to help illustrate the point that I make about how ideas are spread in many ways over the net. The quote itself is a obvious, so I’m not concerned that the information may be inaccurate, because I have heard from similar assessments from other sources, plus the site, although not all that well known, appears to be credible.
