RATIONALE
What this site sets out to do goes beyond what is possible through other media. The one thing it really wants to do is to get veterans to respond with their own stories. While some type of print might be able to do this it would imply the veteran typing on paper and mailing in the response. There would also be the need to periodic publishing to show the results of respondents to the requests for the input. Simply from a cost point of view it is more economical to operate a web site, even one that is updated frequently, that to publish a journal or magazine. There are many other negatives to publishing. The web on the other hand is more easily accessible. If the visitor is there and is inspired by the content it is easy to make a response right then over the net. It is like an impulse buy in a sense.
