Conclusion
The technological revolution has affected many aspects of everyday life for all groups of society. While each of one of us has been affected, those who have received the greatest benefit are scientists. Technology has provided scientists with the power to take another step forward; the same step geography was able to take with the help of GIS. Dobson (2007) wrote: “Technology, like culture itself, changes in unpredictable and uncontrollable ways, always interwoven with science and society” (p.317). Geographic Information Systems might be a relatively new field of study within geography, but it certainly is an established and influential one.
