Women Educators Women Educators was founded in 1974 by members of the RWE SIG to serve as an unaffiliated group of AERA and provide another means of promoting equality of opportunity at all levels for women in AERA and generally in the field of educational research. Women Educators seeks to promote equity and link practitioners with researchers and other educational organizations. WE is a 501(c) (3) organizations and offers it name to members of AERA who apply for grants that meet the group's goals and need tax exempt status. WE holds its annual meeting at the AERA annual meeting. Women Educators supports the following activities: Recognizing the work of women in education; employment networks; and feminist activism

Women Educators (WE), an unaffiliated group of AERA, is a sister organization to the SIG: Research on Women and Education and the AERA Committee on the Role and Status of Women. A 501(c)(3) organization, WE promotes equity and diversity, links practitioners with researchers and other educational organizations, develops and supports strategies for political and social activism, and recognizes the contributions of women in education.
