Background

Blank (2008) said that the Internet has had an influence on psychology that is very far-reaching. These changes include the way psychology teachers teach and the way students are educated and trained. Psychological research has also been influenced greatly by the Internet (p. 22). Blank (2008) believes the new generation of psychology students is comfortable with new technologies, such as the Internet. Because of this comfort level, instructors should experiment incorporating the Internet more in their teaching. This may allow the instructors to teach better and for the students to learn more efficiently and in more depth (p. 22). Over the years, the Internet has started to play a much bigger role in the field of psychology. The Internet has helped many aspects of peoples’ lives, and the field of psychology is one aspect that has definitely benefited. The use of the Internet in psychological teaching, training, and research has just recently started to become an integral part of the field. Blank (2008) believes that Internet-based technologies will continue to contribute to the psychology field on a global scale and the psychology curriculum. Currently used Internet-based technologies have already started this transition, and future innovations will help even further (p. 22).
