George Mason University College Migrations '09-'14

The colleges on the chords are sized by the number of migrations out. Mouseover a college to see the percentage of all migrations (across the university) that come from that college. Mouseover the chords for a particular college to see the percent of migrations out of that college that go to each other college.

The top two very thin chords are represent events rather than colleges. These are Graduate (green) and Drop Out (light purple).

A migration is defined as a change from one college to another, counted from the first term of enrollment onwards. In other words, college changes before first semester classes are discarded in these counts.

The data spans the 15 terms from Summer 2009 to Spring 2014. All students whose cohorts pre-date this time period and all transfer students were excluded. There are 13,845 students declared in one of 105 majors grouped into these 13 colleges.
