The great end of life is not knowledge but action.~Thomas H. Huxley

Professional and Academic Goals

I have always had the opportunity to share knowledge and design my own instructional material based on my own expectations of what sounded a good design.  I want to start designing and developing learner-centered instruction material.  It is not anymore about how I think a good instruction may look like, it is all about the learner and how to give them the best instruction that fulfills their needs.

I expect to become an instructional designer who designs and develops materials with learners in mind.  I would like to get more experience from expert instructional designers on how to put theory into practice.  I would like to design instruction material that can easily be adjusted to the learners needs. I am specially motivated to work on Virtual Learning Environments and Gaming.  I expect to pursue a graduate degree (Ph.D.) and do research on the use of technology to enhance the learning process.  I am specially interested in use the learning theories in the design of software to make it learnable, usable and reliable.

I want to design, develop and analyze content management systems and instruction using Web 2.0 technologies with human factors and user research methods in mind.

Personal Goals

I would like to have the opportunity to assist to different conferences where learning and software development are combined, and I also would like to design a multi-user 3D environment.  I would like to start my own business in the field of instructional design and development using Web 2.0 technologies. I believe that sharing knowledge is the best way to help others and provide better life opportunities to the most disadvantages ones.  I also would like to have a foundation for low income children to have the opportunity to learn in a safe and secure environment using different technologies.  My desire is to impact others people's lives sharing what I have learned and gained so far.
