The graphics, colors and fonts play a very important role in a hypertext.
The right combination can either grab a readers attention into discovering
what the work is about or immediately turn them away from even trying
to read the material that is available. Web readers only take moments
to decide if they are going to stay on a page and the look and layout of
the page is what determines their readtion in those first few seconds. Is
it organized, nice to look at and easy to read? Are the colors pleasing or
annoying. Does the sight look messy or well constructed? Classy or
annoying? When you are surfing the web you ask and answer these
questions to yourself automatically.
I like the font and colors of the hypertext Hegirascope. It is all easy to read
and nothing makes you want to turn away from it. There are no graphics, but
in this case it works because it keeps the focus on the writing. You have to read
this quickly so too many distractions would make that hard.
