About

This project was conceived in the fall of 2005 as part of the curriculum for HIST 696 — Clio Wired I. This course, offered by George Mason University’s History department and the Center for History and New Media, asks students to consider how the “changes that these new media and technologies are bringing to how we research, write, present, and teach the past.” The final assignment was to develop a project with historical merit that would be wholly “born digital.”

In the spring of 2006, I completed HIST 697 — Clio Wired II. This time, the students were asked to see their project proposals from Clio Wire I through to fruition. Many hours of work in research, coding, scanning, and Photoshopping have gone into the virtual exhibit of Entartete Kunst. I hope to build this project up from these bare bones over the next few years as I work to complete my MA in History at George Mason University.
