Different Kinds of Interviews

Advantages

• Quicker
• Efficient
• Helps when dealing with different time zones
• Provides record
• Allows interviewee to think about answer and not feel rushed.

Disadvantages

• Reporter doesn't know who is replying.
• Lacks ability for spontaneity and follow up questions.
• Can't get the immediate reaction.
• probably not as revealing overall.

Pointers

• Keep e-mail professional
• Make sure it is known who you are as reporter.
• Use same reporting skills you always do.
• Easy to fake e-mail address so check identities.
