I. Research and Teaching Grants and Grant Proposals

  1. Dr. Evan E. Anderson and I have then developed a proposal to develop a Team Technology Center on the fourth floor of Enterprise Hall. The facility will be used to teach business students how to use groupware to support teamwork. It will be a research center to support the study of collaboration technology and group decision making. The proposal was submitted to the Provost and GMU Foundation, Inc. in October 1994.

  1. Work with Dr. Evan E. Anderson that led to the contribution of a $15,000 grant by TRW Inc. to enroll George Mason University in Texas Instrument's IEF Full University Program, August 31, 1993. The grant from TRW has been renewed in 1994 with an additional contribution of $2,250 from TRW to maintain the program.

  1. Participated as a faculty investigator of the Concepts of Operations in Software Engineering research project funded by Defense Information Systems Agency's Center for Information Management from January 1993 - June 1993 ($14,244.25 to buy off a course). The principal investigators is Dr. Edgar H. Sibley.

  1. Participated as a faculty investigator of the Technology Assessment Research Project funded by Defense Information Systems Agency's Center for Information Management from August 1992 - January 1993. ($3,724 summer research money).

  1. Awarded a Research Assistant Grant $5,600 by the GMU Graduate School for the 1992 Academic year to develop an Integrated Group Support Environment.

  1. Participated as a faculty investigator of the Functional Economical Analysis research project funded by Defense Information Systems Agency's Center of Information Management from September 1991 to December 1991 ($11,459.00 to buy off a course). The co-principal investigators are Dr. Edgar H. Sibley and Dr. Thomas R. Gulledge.

II. Software Grants

  1. Received a copy of Design/IDEF (list price $3,500) from Meta Software Inc. for teaching Business Process Reengineering course to be offered in Spring 1995.
  2. Enrolled George Mason University in Texas Instruments' IEF Intermediate University Program and received 5 copies of IEF, an integrated CASE tool product, with estimated market value $100,000, August 1992. IEF has been used in MIS 430 and MIS 720 class since Fall semester of 1992.
  3. Received a software grant from KnowledgeWare Inc., several copies of Integrated CASE products including 7 copies of ADW and 10 copies of IEW, with estimated value $340,000.00, was donated to GMU for teaching and research, September 1991. The software grant has been renewed annually. FlashPoint, ObjectView, and Maxim has been added to the software grant.
  4. Received a software grant from Ventana Corporation, a groupware valued $50,000.00 was donated to GMU for teaching and research, January 1991.
  5. Received a software grant from Collaboration Technology Corporation, a groupware valued $40,000.00 was donated to GMU for educational use, December 1990.
