Laboratory Reports
A report is required of each lab group member for each laboratory exercise. It will be due at the next laboratory period, unless
specified otherwise. The report must follow standard technical report writing guidelines. While the report details will vary,
depending upon the nature of the exercise, the general outline for the reports is as follows:
Title Page
Objectives
Study Site (location, description, date, time, weather, other pertinent details)
Procedures
Data (put the raw data in an appendix if appropriate)
Results (include summary tables, charts)
Conclusions
References
All reports will be graded for the quality of writing, including organization, style, spelling, grammar, punctuation, tables and
figures, and neatness.
The final lab report will be a comprehensive report that will utilize several of the earlier reports, with any needed rewrites, as
chapters or sections. This means that you will need to save each report for subsequent reuse in the final lab report.
More details on this final assignment will be provided later in the semester.
