CEIE 197/297/397 -  INDUSTRIAL INTERNSHIP

Spring 2002

All Students interested in an internship should enroll in CEIE 197, 297, or 397, depending on their graduating class. This registration is used to determine the number of internships we need to set up for the summer.

Summary of Expectations

In the spring, all interns are expected to attend two or three meetings (to be determined) in order to prepare for the summer's work. These sessions will cover:

· Resume Preparation

· Getting and Conducting an Interview

· Matching Student Interests To Industry Needs

Resume Preparation

All students must prepare a resume and submit it for a critical appraisal, then submit a final version (see below). Details on submitting the draft resume will be covered at the first class session.

Interviewing Prep

GMU Career Services offers courses in interviewing. Students must attend one of these sessions. Details may be found at their web site: http://www.gmu.edu/departments/cdc/events.htm#poci
