I am a Professor and Director of Teacher Education at George Mason University. Previously, I served as Chair of the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Utah. I received my M. A. in Elementary Education and Learning Disabilities from the University of Evansville, and in 1991, a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Oregon. Prior to my university work, I taught in elementary schools. I have worked at the University of Georgia and was also on the faculty of SUNY Plattsburgh.
