This list comprises
books that cover anthropology as it relates to African Americans specifically,
or race as a larger issue. The subfields of cultural and social anthropology,
as well as archaeology, and biological anthropology are covered. The majority
of books are from the 1980's to the present, but there are a few that
were published before the 1980's that are considered classics in the field
by some scholars, and should be included in any core list that includes
anthropological discussion on race and ethnicity. The list is arranged
by title, author, publication information, and ISBN number.
