THE ELECTRONIC GOVERNMENT IN JORDAN |
|
Jordan has a constitutional monarchy type of government in which King Abdullah II rules. King Abdullah II initiated the e-government in order to enable the government to transform into a competitive and groundbreaking society, by being up-to-date with the (ICT) world. Besides, King Abdullah II’s vision for creating this e-government in Jordan was to deliver service to people all over the society, and get them involved in the government regardless of their location, economic status, education or ICT ability. In comparison to other countries, Jordan falls on the bottom of the top 50 countries with e-government, under the category of medium capacity. That is compared to 2005, in which Jordan ranked 68. Hence, this shows that the country is trying to be up-to-date with technology, but it still has a long way to go.
