Internet Invention

Without the invention of the internet online communities would not exist.  Subgroups and communities have always been around but with the invention of the internet individuals reach other individuals and larger scale communities are formed without the restrictions of space or place.  Ulmer's electrate agency is based on the idea that the internet will be used as a vehicle for solving civil problems.  The goals of my widesite are to reach not only other parents of autistic children through my articles and other writing, but to reach my child through pictures.  The internet allows my story to be displayed in images as well as words, and to be broadcast exponentially so here are a few different websites that describe the invention of the internet, including one that is made up entirely of photos. 

The internet is a place for invention.  It is a place for thoughts and ideas to be formed and spread.....

This goes into an extremely detailed description of the first networking between computer systems and why it was done.  There is a discussion of the state of history and how the Cold War helped bring about the invention of computer networking.

This is titled "A Computer Geeks History of the Internet."  It is an incredibly detailed listing of significant events in technology.  It includes all sorts of links that support it, including some strange ones like a picture of the guy who coined the term "hypertext."

I couldn't resist at least addressing the whole - Al Gore claimed to have invented the internet - debacle.  This website gives the quote that many interpreted  as him claiming to have invented the internet and analyzes it - theorizing it was just clumsy speaking and he wasn't actually claiming invention.
