Hypervisual Thinking

But what kind of "social problem" exploring the concept of hypertext was going to help was a mystery to me.  Then I read Ulmer's words, "The test is the requirement to compose the wide image.  The wide image is the magic tool that allows the egents to confront the problem, the obstacle, the trouble of their world."  (Ulmer, 183)

The trouble of my world is words - the concept of hypretext and associative thinking focuses on words.  My problem, and the problem of the autistic community is communicating without words.  My son doesn't think in words he thinks in pictures

I couldn't tell my son "you are from Arizona".  But if I show him a picture and say, "this is where you are from", he will understand more.  He has to see it to know it is real.

This widesite will give me the opportunity to show my son mystory. That is the reason I have made my table of contents both in words and in the images I have chosen to represent my story.  Each image has a punctum, and a mood that helps express my feelings, or felt, in my mystory.

What I'm hoping is that I reach other autistic parents, not only through my writing, but through this concept of hypervisual thinking.
