I. The advantages of using pre-made website templates are:

    1. Requires little or no knowledge for HTML
    2. Easy to use
    3. Saves time
    4. If you're a non-designer, using templates gives your webpage a more professional look.


    The disadvantages of using templates are:

Netscape Composer and Microsoft FrontPage

    Netscape Composer and Microsoft FrontPage are both webpage editing programs like Dreamweaver. They are both easy to use and allow you to create your own personal quality design without requiring you to know a lot about HTML. They offer basic editing tools which include text editing, inserting links, images, and control of page properties (ex. background color), spell checker, and allows you to preview the html source and/or the design preview as you create the site. The differences of the programs are as follows:

  2. Netscape Composer is helpful to use when creating a simple webpage and it is easier to learn how to use it in comparison of Dreamweaver and Microsoft FrontPage. If you would like to implement advanced features on your webpage than FrontPage and Dreamweaver are the programs to use. Below are a few free tutorials and free download sources for these programs. Please keep in mind that the downloads are free trials for a certain period of time. More information about purchasing the programs is offered on the sites.
