Medical records have now become available online. In order to view your medical records, you no longer have to request them from your doctor. The hassle of searching through numerous pieces of paper and storing that paper in bulky filing cabinets is eliminated by online medical record access.According to The Internet Law Journal, individuals are able to access medications, dosages, recent treatments, x-rays, and family histories. Some benefits of having medical records online include the records being available immediately to any doctor anywhere. If you were in an accident any doctor would be able to pull up your records and see what medical conditions, if any, you have as well as any medications you are allergic to. Electronic records may also be more
secure than paper.A few disadvantages of electronic medical records include the misuse of the records from insurance companies denying coverage and employers denying employment based on past medical records.
