sitemap

I envision the site as being a collated unit, with the sections reliant upon and working in conjunction with each other. From the home page, users will be able to access four sections. The first three will be structurally the same, presenting a historical narrative with an associated example. One will present a history concerned with the ways in which pre-print societies collected and disseminated knowledge among their populace. The others will focus on how encyclopedias and the Wikipedia have filled those roles.

The learning tools will truly tie the three sections together, allowing users to experiment with the different methods of communication. Hopefully, this will facilitate a better understanding of the potential and limitations of each medium's ability to hold and convey information, and allow users to make comparative judgments.
