As many of you guys probably know, I am working on a weight loss program for myself. Right now I am shooting for the weight loss goal of about 40 lbs total, from 240 to about 200. Right now, after 3 months, I am down to 225, which I think is great, especially since it is not just a flash in the pan weight loss thing, but I am actually keeping it down.
I use one video program thing and play a lot of soccer to do so. I am probably going to have to start running more to get better results, but a key source of information I have is the internet. I use a few sites, but the one I use most is a weight loss portal It is full of weight loss information and ideas, as well as lots of things about general health. Even though the site url sounds kind of really gung ho macho, it is a very intelligent site with lots of general health information that follows the newest research. Not only that, it gives a lot of information on things that are not discussed on other sites, which gives it a bit more completeness on health and weight loss than other sites may. One great thing about their articles is that they almost always CITE SOURCES! It is actually pretty amazing that a modern day site does so, lots of other sites do not. That gives this weight loss and health site a bit more credibility than others do.
Weight loss is a big issue for me. Those of you who knew me in high school knew I was a big guy, but was very light and quick on my feet. After moving back home from VCU, I began to really put on the weight, and now look almost nothing like how I did 3 years ago. Yeah, that needs to change. I have to do this for myself. Weight loss is not just some weird hippy thing, it is a very important part of keeping yourself healthy and strong. If you weigh a good amount, then you should be fine, but once you go over that, you start to experience the ill effects. Weight loss is not very easy, though, and in my experience I have found that losing around 2-3 lbs a week is a very good target, though some weeks you may find yourself losing 1-2 lbs, which is also great. It takes a lot of patience, dedication, and time. Weight loss is something you have to do - no one else will do it for you. You really have to take initiative and break yourself in order to do so. It takes a lot of discipline and dedication to keep going at it, too, especially when you start to plateau. The site has a lot of good info for you and you should really use it. Not only when you plateau, but throughout your entire weight loss plan, before, during, and even after. Health is not a concern only when you are losing weight - it should be a priority even when you are healthy. Anyways, check out the site, and check out all of the links, especially the featured articles. It will be a great help in your weight loss goals.
