Economics Department
I am an economics student at George Mason University. I originally transferred from Saint Paul College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I am the 2011 F.A. Hayek Award winner, which was based on the essay, "The Inflation Tiger". I am always interested in economic collaborations, so please feel free to contact me at jward11@gmu.edu
My main economics website is the making of an economist.
I'm a bit of a bibliophile, my favorite economic books or articles are:
- Elements of Pure Economics by Leon Walras
- Principles of Economics by Alfred Marshall
- "The Market for 'Lemons': Quality Uncertainty and the Market Mechanism" by George Akerlof
- Value and Capital by J. R. Hicks
- Natural Value by Friedrich von Wieser
- "Rational Expectations and the Role of Monetary Policy" by Robert Barro
- The Theory of Money and Credit by Ludwig von Mises
- "Technical Change, Inequality, and the Labor Market" by Daron Acemoglu
- Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Friedman
