The Development of the Twitterverse

To cover all of the innovations going on within the Twitterverse (the sum total of all things Twitter) would be infeasible for any report. The trick to discovering these innovations is by following others with similar interests and observing how they use the service. While it seems like obvious advice, one has to become an insider before the process of Twitter reveals itself fully.

At its core, Twitter is simply a technology. Actually, it’s a bundle of technologies. Its genius is not in its construction, but it its application. Text messaging and RSS have been around for a little while now, but only in the last few years have the users figured out clever things to do with them. People are connecting in new ways, breaking down the barriers between celebrities and the discovered. More likely Twitter is an extension of the new direction in which the web is going. Every user has a voice and the volume of that voice is only limited by the amount of time one is willing to put into its promotion.
