Ok, quick run-down...

Sorry about the long delay in a new post...mostly just been busy and forgetful. I'll give the news in bullet points:

  • Skype and my camera work together to bring me an A/V version of Ms. Kate.
  • Christmas was full of fun people and gifts and twas much fun.
  • I'm dead set on getting the new Apple phone that should be coming out at Macworld (provided it doesn't suck).
  • I write blogs in bullet points now, apparently.
  • I've discovered a number of new podcasts and am having fun trying them out. Maybe more details on that later.
  • New video podcasts too...
  • Woot.com is awesome!
  • My job went from lucrative to slow and boring with the passing of xmas. Come on people, you still need to get your new year's presents, right?
  • I actually got a del.icio.us account. But integrated with flock, so not really noticable.
  • Flock is not working very well at the moment and I can't wait for v0.8 (as opposed to v8.0).
  • Finally, I miss Mason and everybody who goes there...it's getting slow around here...and unseasonably warm too...rather unsettling...

Orvisness....

Well, going back to work has sure been a trip. The store is super busy and I love getting to sell stuff instead of stand around and work stock all the time. I do have to open tomorrow at 7 though :(

I won't be a keyholder this time, but there's still so much to do that it all works out. I made a 700 dollar sale yesterday and sold 3,000 dollars worth of stuff today. Pretty incredible numbers. That's more like what our entire store made on some summer days. Just crazy.

Kate is still awesome...I'll be getting the webcam soon (i left it at mason and she's mailing it to me), and then I can actually see her.

What's everybody else up to on their break!

Off to Richmond!

Hey Everybody!

It looks like I'm off to my home town of Richmond pretty soon. Today actually. It's been a while since I blogged, but that's ok because not much has happened. I'm sure I did some interesting stuff somewhere but it's mostly been overshadowed by my rather difficult exams. In studying for Botany I was part of a 9.5 hour study group (with a one hour break for dinner, admittedly). I don't think the study for that one helped much though honestly...

Hmmm, also, if i didn't mention it before, my wonderful girl, Kate, made me a scarf! Hurray for having a scarf. (And it looks nice too!)

Today I'm leaving mid day for home. I get to go back to Orvis and work a full week at least. It'll be nice to see the store full of people for once...summer was a little slow at times. When I went back to visit during thanksgiving it was really busy though, so that's good. Also I will once again wield the folding box cutter!

I will miss Kate...:( The only good news is that I've now got Skype videochat down to a science so she won't seem quite so far away.

[Update] James Kim Was Alive When Found, But They Could Not Save Him In Time

Searchers told NBC News that they located Kim on Tuesday and at one point they were able to make direct contact with him. They explored ways to lower a medic to the area, they said, but it was not immediately clear whether that attempt ultimately failed or was too late to save Kim.

A little sad news...

It appears that James Kim and his family have dissapeared. He is a CNET editor who has appeared on many programs and podcasts about technology and run the Crave Gagets Blog on CNET. Here are two videos that provide info and pictures of them. If you have any information, please follow the directions. The tech community is pulling for you James!
