On this page, you can download any of the three following measures that I have developed with colleagues. The documents are available in Microsoft Word and include items, scoring instructions, and other basic information about the measures. You may use these measures for noncommercial purposes without having to ask for permission from any of the authors. However, you may not use these measures for commercial purposes without obtaining permission from the authors. Attitudes Regarding Bisexuality Scale (ARBS) The ARBS is designed to assess two dimensions of attitudes toward bisexual women and men. Tolerance, the first dimension, relates to the degree to which bisexuality is viewed as an acceptable, morally tolerable sexual orientation. Stability, the second dimension, relates to the degree to which bisexuality is viewed as a legitimate, stable sexual orientation. The attached document includes description of the three forms of the ARBS. The Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Identity Scale (LGBIS) The LGBIS is designed to assess six dimensions of lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) identity that have been discussed in the clinical and theoretical literature: Internalized Homonegativity, Need for Privacy, Need for Acceptance, Identity Confusion, Difficult Process, and Superiority. The OI is designed to assess the degree to which lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) individuals are open about their sexual orientation. Responses on OI items indicate the degree to which the respondent’s sexual orientation is known by and openly discussed with various types of individuals (e.g. mother, work, peers). |
