Overview
|
In this technical tutorial, we will learn how to
adjust color in an image using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. To change a picture's color in
Photoshop Elements, we will adjust the image for hue, saturation, and lightness. These color
attributes can be adjusted in Photoshop Elements by using the Hue/Saturation
tool found under the Enhance menu. We start simply by opening the image that we want
to adjust and then choosing the Hue/Saturation option. By clicking in any part
of the image, we can select the color that we want to replace in the picture. In this
tutorial, we will adjust an image of a cardinal from the desktop that I have selected for
the exercise. We will replace color in the image through a step-by-step process.

Instructions
|
- Open Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and open the "Cardinal" image on the desktop.
- After you open the image, click on the Enhance pull-down menu in the toolbar at the
top of the screen. Select Adjust Color and then select Hue/Saturation.
- Now the Hue/Saturation tool should appear. Go to the Edit pull-down menu
on the tool and select Reds. This will allow you to adjust the red colors in the
image.
- After you select Reds, move the key on the Hue scale to the right until
the hue value reads +10.
- Now move the key on the Saturation scale to the right until the saturation
value reads +10.
- Now move the key on the Lightness scale to the right until the lightness value
reads +10. Click OK.
- You should now see that the red color in the "Cardinal" image is noticeably lighter
with a different hue and saturation in the color.
