INSTRUCTIONS FOR
VIEWING COMMENTS ON YOUR GRADED WORK
When a paper is
returned to you with a grade and comments, you should be able to view the
following:
- Colored
highlights within the paper—blue for material commented upon, yellow for grammar, spelling or
punctuation errors
- “bubbles”
in the right margin of the paper containing instructor comments, connected
to your text by a red line
- usually,
a grading rubric with marks
- a
final summary of remarks at the end of
your paper, , along with your grade for this assignment
If you cannot view
these effects, take the following steps:
- first,
enable the comment function in Word by clicking on View, then Toolbars,
then Reviewing
- again,
click on View, then Web Layout
- on the
Reviewing toolbar, choose Final Showing Markup
- also
on that toolbar, check ALL boxes under Show
The comment bubbles
and colored text should then appear.
