As part of his inaugural activities at
GMU's Johnson Center, Governor James Gilmore
sampled one of SOM's distance learning
intitiatives presented at the Northern Virginia
Technology Showcase January 11, 1997. "He seemed
thoroughly approachable and genuinely interested
in my multi-point teaching initiative," stated
Jim Harvey. "I think he was pleasantly surprised to see himself live via
Internet imaging and to experience first hand our achievements in
interactive, multi-media distance education," Harvey added.
