The use of graphics and the integration
of graphics was the focus of
the first half of the semester. I think of using graphics in
three different ways:
Using the actual tools,
such as Appleworks or Adobe Photoshop (drawing, painting, and altering)
Understanding the
different types of graphics (conceptualizing)
Integrating graphics
into the curriculum (integrating)
And, I would like to add a
fourth component of our graphics study, and that is:
Recognizing Visual Language (Horn, 1998) as a
new language
