Workshop format:
The workshop will start with a brief introduction by the workshop organisers summarising the current debate. Each participant will give a 5 min presentation of their abstract before a coffee break. Afterwards a general discussion will take place to identify current debate and open research questions.
As the workshop is linked to an on-going AEDAM special issue (http://web.cs.wpi.edu/~aiedam/SpecialIssues/Vermaas-Eckert.html), the position papers for the special issue will be made available on request to potential contributors. Authors participating in this special issue are very much invited to bring in their work; colleagues interested in the topic are also very much invited to bring in their perspectives.

Submission information:
A statement of your interest and a 100 words description of your view on the role of functional description will be required by the 7th of May. Please send the statement to <ashok.goel@cc.gatech.edu> and <P.E.Vermaas@tudelft.nl>.

Attendees at the workshop need to register either as an addition to the DCC'12 conference registration at a cost of $25, or if not registered for the conference at a cost of $50. Please go the main DCC12 conference page and then to Registration to register.
