DCC'08 Submission Details

Submission of Paper Abstracts – Now Closed
Paper submission is a two phase process: initially submit a paper title and two-page abstract electronically in the conference paper abstract format available as PDF and RTF. This will be quickly reviewed based on the suitability of the topic for the conference; then the full paper is submitted. Please proceed to the electronic submission of your paper abstract. Submission is through the EasyChair system, where you will be required to set up a login account. A pdf file needs to submitted. Note: Full papers may be submitted without a prior abstract.

Full papers for review (20 pages maximum) must be submitted electronically in the conference paper format which is available as PDF and RTF. One pdf file with the full paper including the title and abstract but no author identification anywhere needs to be submitted. Separately, at time of submission you need to email dcc08@gmu.edu with a statement that at least one author will register and attend the conference to present the paper, please include the paper title in the email. Please proceed to the electronic submission of your paper. Submission is through the EasyChair system accessed through the above link or through the conference Submission page, where you will be required to set up a login account if you don't already have one. At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference by 4 April 2008 to have their paper included in the published proceedings.

Full papers may be submitted without a prior abstract.

Submission of Workshop Proposals – due 22 February 2008
Proposals for half-day workshops on advanced topics related to design computing or design cognition are due 22 February 2008. The workshops that succeed are those that provide considerable opportunity for discussion and are generally not run as mini-conferences.

Proposals for workshops should contain the following information and occupy no more than 1000 words and be submitted as a PDF file:

1. Workshop Title
2. Name of Chair(s) plus email contact
3. Committee of 3 to 5 people (preferably with international representation)
4. Goals of the workshop
5. Workshop format
6. Method of admission (e.g., abstract, resume)

Revised, Accepted Paper Submission – due date 21 March 2008
The printed proceedings will be published by Springer. Revised, accepted papers have an absolute page limit of 20 pages in the conference format. For those of you familiar with the DCC format style, the publisher has changed the format style, so papers will now look different. You can download the style as a Word file (.doc), as an example paper in Word (example-in-Word) or as an example paper in pdf (example-in-pdf). Each paper needs a Consent form (Consent) to be published. Submit the revised paper as a resubmission of the original paper number through EasyChair. A single zipped file containg three files: the paper in pdf, the paper in doc (or rtf), and the Consent form, needs to be submitted.

At least one author of each paper must register by 4 April 2008 to have their paper included in the printed proceedings

Submission of Accepted Poster Abstracts – due date 25 April 2008
Accepted poster abstracts (2 pages maximum) must be submitted electronically in the poster format which available in PDF and RTF. . Both a doc (or rtf) and a pdf file need to submitted in a single zipped file. Submit the revised abstract as a resubmission of the original abstract number through EasyChair.

At least one author of each accepted poster must register for the conference by 25 April 2008 to have their poster abstract included in the poster publication.

Accepted Poster Size
Posters to be brought to the conference for hanging should be A1 in size and format. A1 is 594mm x 841mm or approximately 23 1/2in x 33in.
