It's pretty safe to say that Andrew Nachinson is a people person. All he really wants to do is bring people together. Nachinson founded iFOCOS, the Institute for the Connected Society, in order to "enable a better-informed society." The organization isn't so much focused on convergence as much as technological co-dependence. The website houses clips of the recent We Media Miami Conference, with appearances by video bloggers, Craig Newmark and YouTube celebrities like Happy Slip, these heavy e-hitters met to think of new ways to use digital media to benefit new communities and help exisiting communities thrive. According to the website, the event garners around 300 international participants, who go to workshops, see exhibits, and experience "Random Acts of Media," a series of "mash-ups" that combine different mediums to create alternative forms of expression.
