II.  Video Clip Presentation
Abnormal Psychology

1. You may work with a partner or by yourself to find a film that illustrates a psychological disorder.   DO NOT use a science fiction film with supernatural elements,  but rather realistic examples of human behavior with one of the following psychological disorders:

     phobia
     OCD
     major depression
     dysthymia
     bipolar – manic phase
     schizophrenia
     disociative identity disorder
     panic disorder

2.  To help you find films, you could use these databases:
 The Internet Movie Database  http://imdb.com/
 The All Movie Guide  http://allmovie.com/avg.plots.html
(Be sure to use the keyword search function when you use these webpages)

3.  Choose a 2 – 3 minute clip (or less) from the movie to show in class Wednesday, April 9th

4.  If you use a GMU video, get a permission slip from JC and get instructor’s signature Monday, April 7th so that you can check it out of the library on Wednesday for class viewing.

5.  Choose the disorder and inform the instructor which one you plan to do and which movie you plan to use on Monday .

6.  For Wednesday, prepare a brief outline of your 1-2 minute talk to present after the showing the video clip.
 1. Can the audience guess which disorder they’ve seen?
 2.  Tell us briefly how this disorder is classified, its probable causes, common treatment.
