The internet's new blogging trend is spawning a new digital subculture.
A blog, short for web log, is a tool that lets anyone voice their opinion on
just about anything. In minutes, a person can become their own publisher.
Blogging is huge. There are close to a million blogs, though that's just a
guess because they are cropping up everywhere and there are no
accurate ways to count them.
Students, housewives, chief executive officers, senior citizens, government
bureaucrats, music fans, religious groups, everyday and not so everyday
people and lots of journalists are blogging addicts.
There are lots of places to set up a blog. Blogger is an easy-to-use blogging
tool, blogroots has useful information about blogs and linking blog sites,
and weblogs lists minute-by-minute updates in blogs.
