Gas Chromatography (HP 5890)
Instrument start-up procedure
1) First turn on the He gas.
2) Turn Oven Temperature (oven temp) on. Set it to 200. Warm up the oven for 30 min.
3) Turn Injector A Temperature (Inj A Temp) on. Set it to 250.
4) Turn Detector A Temperature (Det A Temp) on. Set it to 280.
5) Turn on DET on.
6) Turn on recorder/integrator.
7) Inject standards.
8) Inject samples.
9) Record all GC conditions and data.
Instrument shut-down procedure
1) Turn off detector.
2) Turn off temperature.
3) Turn off gases.
4) Turn off recorder/integrator.
