AGILANT 1100 SERIES HPLC SYSTEM

First turn on the pump and detector of the instrument. The HP 1100 Series system is controlled through handheld control module. The control module controls and monitors the entire HP 100 series system.
Turning the Pump on/off
1) Enter the Analysis or System screen.
2) Select the on/off button [F7].
3) Select the Pump button [F8].
4) Choose the desired function either with the action buttons [F6-F8] or by selecting the on/off button from the pop-up window.
Turning the Lamp on/off
1) Enter the Analysis or System screen.
2) Select the on/off button [F7].
3) Select the Lamp button [F6].
4) The same can be achieved by using the on/off button [F8] in the Detector Settings or Control screen available through the analysis or System screens.
Turning the Detector on/off
1) Select the settings button [F1] in the analysis screen.
2) Select the detector from the menu. Press enter.
3) Set the Detector wavelength = 254, Peak width(Response Time)=>.1min, Signal Polarity = Positive
Preparing the HPLC System
1) Fill the solvent bottle with HPLC-grade bidistilled water(30%) and Methanol (70%)(channelA).
In the analysis screen set the functions as following.
A=100%
B=0%
Flow = 1.00
Stop Time= 15.00 (as desired)
2) Pump the water/methanol (30/70 %) mobile phase through the column at a flow rate of 1.00 ml/min for 10 minutes.
Injecting sample
1) Fill syringe with sample.
2) Move valve to LOAD position.
3) Insert needle of syringe into needle port until needle touches stator face. Do not press too hard.
4) Slowly inject sample ( 3-5 drops).
5) Leave syringe in position and move valve to INJECT position.
6) Remove syringe.
Printer
1) The printer will start automatically when the sample is injected.
2) Set the printer as follows:

AR REJ = 1000
Threshold= 70.
