TRAVEL TO BRYN MAWR COLLEGE

This memo will help you make cost-effective travel plans to Bryn Mawr, PA. If possible, check airfares on the Microsoft Expedia and the United Airlines websites as both allow you to search for "best priced" airfares on all major airlines. From Philadelphia International Airport: Allow a minimum of 1 hour of travel to arrive on campus. A commuter train or Super Shuttle can be taken to Bryn Mawr College from the Philadelphia airport for approximately $17. For reservations with Super Shuttle call (215) 551-5820. By commuter train take the Airport High Speed Line to the 30th Street Station. Catch the commuter train to Bryn Mawr as instructed in the "Travel by Train" section. TRAVEL BY BUS: Greyhound buses come into Philadelphia at the Greyhound Bus Terminal on the 10th and Filbert Streets. From there, ask to be directed to Market East/Gallery (9th & Market). See instructions under "Travel by Train" from Penn Center/Suburban Station. Call Greyhound for a complete schedule and to make reservations. TRAVEL BY TRAIN: Amtrak service to the 30th Street Station is provided daily. Call the Amtrak for more information and a complete schedule. From Market East/Gallery, Philadelphia's Penn Center (16th Street and JFK Blvd.) or 30th Street Station (30th and Market Streets - the Amtrak Station is located here), board SEPTA's R-5 Paoli Local or Bryn Mawr Local train to Bryn Mawr (17-19 minutes ride). The train, which follows the (royal-blue colored pamphlet) R-5 schedule (Lansdale and Doylestown to Downington and Paoli), runs from 6:15am to 12:15am on weekdays and from 7:15am to 12:15am on weekends. The campus is a five minute walk from the Bryn Mawr train station. From the station walk north on Morris Avenue (straight ahead as you get off the train) for two blocks. Turn left onto Yarrow Street. The College stretches to your right and straight ahead (see campus map). A taxi services operate 7 day a week from 5:30am until 12:30am. TRAVEL BY CAR: From the Pennsylvania Turnpike: Take Exit 24 (Valley Forge Interchange) and follow signs for I-76 East. Approximately 3 miles east, take Exit 28-A signed I-476 South/Chester. From I-476 take Exit 5 signed for US 30/St. Davids-Villanova. Keep on the ramp, turn right at signalized intersection signed for US 30 East. Take US 30 (Lancaster Avenue) approximately 2 miles, to Morris Avenue. Turn Left onto Morris Avenue and go under the train bridge and across Montgomery Avenue. Refer to a Princeton University map for specific building or parking. From the New Jersey Turnpike (North of Philadelphia): Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 6 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike West to Exit 25 (Norristown). From I-476 take Exit 5 signed for US 30/St. Davids-Villanova. Keep on the ramp, turn right at signalized intersection signed for US 30 East. Take US 30 (Lancaster Avenue) approximately 2 miles, to Morris Avenue. Turn Left onto Morris Avenue and go under the train bridge and across Montgomery Avenue. From the New Jersey Turnpike (South of Philadelphia): Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 2. Follow signs for Route 322 West that will take you across the Commodore Barry Bridge to I-95. Take I-95 North to Exit 7, signed I-476 North/Plymouth Meeting. From I-476 North take Exit 5 signed for US 30/St. Davids-Villanova. Keep on the ramp, turn right at signalized intersection signed for US 30 East. Take US 30 (Lancaster Avenue) approximately 2 miles, to Morris Avenue. Turn Left onto Morris Avenue and go under the train bridge and across Montgomery Avenue. From Washington DC and other points South: VIA I-95 Take I-95 North to Exit 7, signed I-476 North/Plymouth Meeting. From I-476 North take Exit 5 signed for US 30/St. Davids-Villanova. Keep on the ramp, turn right at signalized intersection signed for US 30 East. Take US 30 (Lancaster Avenue) approximately 2 miles, to Morris Avenue. Turn Left onto Morris Avenue and go under the train bridge and across Montgomery Avenue. VIA ROUTE 1 Take Route 1/Media Bypass to exit signed I-476 North. Follow I-476 for approximately 13 miles to Exit 5, signed for US 30/St. Davids-Villanova Keep on the ramp, turn right at signalized intersection signed for US 30 East. Take US 30 (Lancaster Avenue) approximately 2 miles, to Morris Avenue. Turn Left onto Morris Avenue and go under the train bridge and across Montgomery Avenue.
