SimpliCity is a community based
on the ideals of transcendentalism. This is a place to escape the
hectic craving for wealth and unrestrained industrialization of the Jacksonian
era. It is both a socialist and a religious community, which will
help create a sense of balance and stability. Religion is an individual
quest for spirituality rather than being a prescribed belief. Consequently,
there are no formal places of worship. By developing a relationship with
nature and trusting your intuition, one can reach an understanding of the
world and a relationship with God. Nature is the heart of SimpliCity.
It can help in instilling a sense of tranquility in the people, and allows
them to find inspiration from their immediate surroundings. For this
reason, there are many orchards and parks around the homes and all over
the community.
SimpliCity is an agricultural
community. There are many farms located near the river, which makes
it possible to supply water to the crops. The farmland only extends
along half of the river so that a portion is available for other purposes
such as swimming or merely to absorb its beauty. The woods are secluded
from the rest of the community to ensure that they are not disrupted by
the farms and housing. There is however one public building for the
function of rudimentary carpenting and the production of fabric.
It offers a life of ease and peace.
SimpliCity is a community
in which spirituality outshines all that is materialistic. It offers
a life of serenity and ease and places great emphasis of the bond between
nature and the human being.
