Charlotte is a Chemistry major with a concentration in biochemistry. After graduation Charlotte plans on continuing her research in graduate school. She also volunteers in the rehabilitation clinic at Walter Reed and held the position of Vice President of the Chemistry Club for 4 semesters. Charlotte worked at Mason in various capacities including OSCAR scholar, microbiology lab technician, learning assistant for cell biology, and chemistry tutor.

Charlotte has been with Grant Lab since May 2018 developing nanoparticles for drug delivery of anti-fibrotics. Charlotte's research is aimed at using the dysfunctional mitochondria found in IPF fibroblasts as a mechanism to distinguish diseased cells from their non-diseased counterparts. During her time in the Grant lab Charlotte has developed a prototype nanoparticle that contains fluorescent cargo. Using this prototype she has demonstrated the feasibility and specificity of the nanoparticle, work she has presented at the 2019 Spring celebration of scholarship at GMU. With the confirmation of her prototype, Charlotte is now optimizing the design protocol to ensure high efficiency uptake of small molecule anti-fibrotics.
