About Me...

In 2002, I earned my B.A. in Communications (with a minor in English) from George Washington University. I am currently a part-time student at George Mason University pursuing an M.A. in English (with a concentration in Professional Writing and Editing). My graduate coursework includes technical writing and editing, research, non-fiction writing, and literature. To date, I have completed the following courses at Mason:

  • English 501: Introduction to Professional Writing and Editing
  • English 503: Theory and Practice of Editing
  • English 513: Asian American Literature
  • English 565: Forms of Non-Fiction
  • English 701: Literary Scholarship

I am currently enrolled in English 613: Technical & Scientific Writing and English 505: Computer Assisted Publications and Design.

During the last three years I have worked for the Department of Energy, Office of Inspector General (OIG). My professional portfolio includes narrative text, biographies, creative non-fiction writing, manual writing, and inspection report writing.

I currently serve as the lead writer for the OIG’s Semiannual Report to Congress (September 2006 – March 2007). This project involves presenting succinct, accurate, and informative summaries of OIG-related activities, including significant accomplishments and positive outcomes stemming from OIG investigations, audits, and inspection activities. The purpose of this report is to convey the critical role that the OIG plays in identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies in Department programs and returning hard dollars to the United States Treasury.

For additional information about my educational and professional work, refer to my resume.
