English 613: Technical & Scientific Writing

The major project for English 613 is developing a standardized set of guidelines for Departmental Information Technology (IT) coordinators in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Currently, there are no specific guidelines that detail all of the duties and responsibilities of the IT coordinators. The project has five components, including: (1) gathering and summarizing existing material and documentation, which identify the duties of the IT coordinators; (2) interviewing IT coordinators to determine their job responsibilities and needs; (3) drafting an IT coordinators guide; (4) conducting a usability study to assess comprehension and accessibility of information; and (5) revising the guide according to feedback received from IT coordinators and other users.
