Prior to the start of this class, I have had many experiences with analyzing data and writing up results. Therefore, I was fairly familiar with statistical concepts and felt that this course would be almost like a review of what I already knew. However, I realized how naïve my initial perspective was as class progressed. Specifically, this class provided me with a deeper understanding about what the numbers in statistics really meant, how they were derived, and why statistics is so important in social science research. ANOVAs, multiple regressions, and t-tests mean a lot more to me now than they have before and I have a deeper appreciation for statistics as a result of this class.
