It contains original scholarship on and primary documents (texts) for the poetry of Anne Cecil de Vere, Countess of Oxford (1556-88); Katherine Fowler Philips known as "Orinda" (1631-64); Anne Finch, Countess of Winchilsea (1661-1720) and Lady Mary Wortley Montagu (1689-1762). It also contains a bibliography of sources for women who wrote poetry during the early modern period.
