About Me

As a kid I was a major computer geek. So, it seemed to be the only natural choice to begin a career in computers. I very quickly learned, however, that I was not content sitting behind a computer all day and wanted to interact with people. While my grandmother would say I wanted to be a doctor, but didn't want to deal with the blood, I'd like to think my reasons for entering this field are much deeper. In high school, I had an amazing AP Psychology teacher. She instilled most of my love of Psychology in me and haven't turned back since.

Originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania I received my bachelors' degree at Temple University in Philadelphia. At Temple I worked with Dr. Lauren B. Alloy. I learned more in 2 years in Lauren's lab than I would have from 10 in the classroom. Working with her made me realize that I could in fact merge my love of computers with my newfound passion for psychology, and the rest is history. While at Temple, I was an integral part of several federally-funded grants in Lauren's Mood and Cognition Lab. Throughout my tenure, I created several databases to manage data, learned a few computer languages to write some programs, ran EEGs and EKGs, and made some awesome friends.

The decision to come to George Mason wasn't an easy one, but is one of the most exciting decisions of my life. Even though, as an Eagles fan, I cringe at even going to a school whose mascot is a "Patriot" :)

Outside of the lab (yes, there is an outside!), I'm an avid gardener and still rising computer geek. Lately, I've been learning more about web design and advanced computer programming. I've designed many of the web sites linked on my personal site here.
