Activate your Mason Cluster account
In order to create a website on Mason, you need to activate your Mason Cluster account. Your Mason Cluster account is not the same as your GMU/MEMO email account.
You can activate your account (or change your password) using a web interface: https://mason.gmu.edu/ISO/SysEng/Mason/account.html
Once you have activated your account, you need to connect to the Mason server:
Using SSH (Windows):
- Open up the Secure Shell Client (Not the File Transfer Client).
- Hit Quick Connect and enter mason.gmu.edu for the Host Name, and your username.
- If this is your first time connecting, you'll probably get a few warning messages. Push OK to clear those.
- Enter your mason.gmu.edu password At this point, you should have a mason> prompt.
Using Terminal (Mac OS X/Linux)
- Open up the Terminal application (Located in Applications/Utilities)
- Enter ssh username@mason.gmu.edu replacing username appropriately.
- Enter your mason.gmu.edu password At this point, you should have a mason> prompt.
You can now set up your web space
