For this assignment, you will write a 3 -5 page set of instructions. You
may choose from among the following topics:
- Changing a tire on a car
- Adding a new hard drive to a computer
- Changing the strings and tuning a guitar
- Other topics as approved
The instructions should be written for an appropriate audience: someone who does not know how to perform the process, but would benefit from knowing. You should use illustrations when appropriate.
The instructions should not be a simple list of steps. The assignment should follow the textbook's examples for "long instructions" or :procedures," not "short instructions."
The instructions should include
- introduction explaining why your process or method should be followed.
- List of parts and/or tools required
- Estimated time
- List of steps, broken into sub-steps if necessary
- Illustrations and diagrams as appropriate
- Notes, warnings, and cautions as appropriate
