The first peer review will be an in class review of the joint Research Assignment. You will each exchange a typed copy of your draft with another student. Read the draft, then respond to the following questions:
- Are all of the required sections included and complete? Which, if any, sections require more work?
- Is the summary clear and concise? Mark any sentences which you think are unnecessary or wordy.
- How are the sources used in the Library Research section? Mark any information which is unclearly cited, or which seems to require a citation.
- In the Reactions section, identify the thesis or main point. Is the thesis supported by the research?
- Are the citations in the Literature Cited section correct and consistent?
- Mark any sentence or grammatical errors you find. If an error is repeated, just make a note of it once.
- If this were your report, what changes would you make? ("None" is not an acceptable response.)
Write your responses on a sheet of paper, and give it and the draft back to the author. I will collect peer reviews and drafts when I collect the final papers on Oct. 31.
